The Research and Industrial Week at a glance
In the frame of EMIMEO (Erasmus Mundus Master on Innovative Microwave Electronics and Optics), the partner Universities organises the Research and Industrial Week every year for the students. That year, the events were held at the Unversity of Brescia (Italy) from Monday 19th July to Friday 24th July 2021.
The EMIMEO universities invited experts from outside of the EMIMEO Consortium who drawn attention to important industrial & research topics in the fields of electronics, electromagnetic, photonics and telecommunications. Their approaches to research and understanding of its links to professional activities is an added value for students.
A big part of the training was dedicated to thinking « out of the box » for the students. For instance, some workshops were focused on creativity & entrepreneurship, to prepare the students for the next steps in their career after the end of the Master’s course. »
The opening act of the R&I Week took place on Monday morning from 10:00am to 12:00. The participants had the opportunities to listen to the speeches from EMIMEO coordinators and representatives from the University of Brescia and Guest Lecturers as well.

Then, Frédéric Fabre, EMIMEO Project Manager invited the students to give a few words about their experiences in EMIMEO. All the students who were enrolled in the first academic year (Intake 02) were participating in the events. The students who were also doing the mobility path at the University of Brescia for the second year were also attending the opening act.
The students followed the seminars of Philippe Eudeline about Economic Intelligence. Three sessions from Monday to Wednesday were dedicated to the Treats, Business Intelligence and how to protect the companies.
Then, Anca Constantinescu-Dobra organised several workshops about how to design the entrepreneurial journey of the students.
Daniele Riccio professor at the University of Naples Federico II performed two conferences about Electromagnetic and 5G.
The students were invited on Thursday afternoon to visit the laboratories of telecommunications and optics in collaboration with Dr Costantino De Angelis and Camilla Baratto at the Italian national Centre of Research.
On Tuesday evening a guided Tour of Brescia has been organised for the students.
On Friday the CSMT technology Cluster invited the students to discover their activities. They have the opportunity to have two presentations from to company working their Gecxel and Polibrixia.
