Student testimonies about the European Microwave Week in Milan

The European Microwave Week was an amazing opportunity to network with knowledgeable and prominent professionals, which enriched the experience for all the students. We could participate in a workshop directed by Professor David Ricketts from North Carolina State University (US) in which we could build a Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave Radar.

There, we could use the knowledge acquired in our masters to build a full microwave system from scratch. Plus, we shared knowledge with other students from all around the world during this hands-on experience.

Apart from the workshop, we could attend very interesting speeches about state-of-the-art techniques involving microwave engineering. Personally, we found these interventions very convenient because we had to choose the topics of our master thesis after the conference, and it was very opportune to hear about the current state of the different areas of microwaves.

Furthermore, we had a blast in Milan, getting to know the city with our colleagues. It was the well-known fashion week, so the whole town was full of people and several events were taking place, we could even watch a football game between Italy and England.
